ABOUT DEREK ANGLIN
During his senior year at Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, GA, Derek trusted in Christ for salvation and was gloriously saved. Within six months, he surrendered to preach the Gospel and pursue God’s call on his life; his plans and dreams of playing professional baseball quickly faded from view.
At the beginning of 2002, he moved to North Augusta, SC and attended Victory Baptist College under the leadership of Dr. Larry Brown. During his sophomore year at VBC, God began opening doors for Derek to travel, preach and evangelize. After finishing college, Derek relocated to Athens, GA and pastored a growing church plant for several years before taking time away from pastoring. During a transitory time from ministry, he later worked as the Director of Growth for a large retail corporation in Atlanta which led to him starting a successful retail business.

After attending Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA with Pastor Jentezen Franklin, God began to lead Derek back into ministry, this time, starting a church in Commerce, GA. He and his wife Ashley, along with their four children, moved to Jackson County, GA and in 2013, launched NewGrace in a local movie theater, reaching hundreds of people and quickly outgrowing the location. After renting a nearby shopping center for a few years, NewGrace has moved to a new location and the church continues to see tremendous growth with plans for expansion.
With the success of the church and constant invitations to engage in other ministries, Derek is once again making himself available for preaching and speaking engagements; from revivals, conferences, ministry and leadership consultation, as well as diverse evangelistic opportunities. He has been privileged to serve on nonprofit and charity boards while also serving as an instructor in Refuge Bible College, formerly in Demorest, GA. Derek’s most recent seminary role is that he currently serves as a Homiletics Instructor at Trinity Bible Institute in Lancaster, SC, founded by Dr. Rick Cope.
Derek has an exceptionally strong passion for revival and a deep desire to see believers encouraged in the church. His dynamic preaching style and ability to relate to any audience is a gift God continues to use in diverse settings from church services, crusades, and classrooms.
