It serves as a go-to organization for churches, ministries, and individuals seeking to establish personal or corporate restoration. The Lazarus Initiative is responsible for giving life and purpose back to hundreds of ministers and as a result, the Gospel to thousands of lives.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
The Lazarus Initiative utilizes a customized and detailed process of restoration for each client, based on the context of their personal circumstance. Using this process, the Lazarus Initiative helps ministers take the necessary steps to adjust to a “new normal” while charting out a timeline and course of action that will lead them back into their life, purpose, and calling with God. The goal is always to restore the minister’s walk with God and eventually, their work for God.

Are you in need of restoration?
Pastors and ministers alike struggle through unseen and unspoken battles that many believers are unaware of, even members of their own staff and congregation. The suppression and secrecy they bear easily leads to an imbalance in church and home life. Moral failures creep in and evolve into a darkness of unconfessed and unrepentant sin; and at the end of it all, for many of these men and women, failure feels final. Having personally been through a dark place in ministry that left Derek lifeless, he has a grave burden for others facing these same realities. His experience with burnout, depression, and failure allows him to very much relate with these life events in the lives of others. He knows what it is like to give up on church, calling, and even God. In his own words, it “feels like death.” It is reaching a point in life as a pastor or preacher that you never thought you could end up in. However, Derek also experienced for himself the hand of God at work in his alienated path. God extended plenteous mercy and sufficient grace to him at the depths of his lowest moments. His story, like others, is that God graciously brought him back from the deadness of life. He learned firsthand that with Jesus, like Lazarus in John 11, you can be dead, but not done. It is his prayer that God will allow The Lazarus Initiative to serve the needs of any minister, pastor, preacher, or church staff member that feels as though personal restoration is an impossibility.
